I have been working with wood for as long as I can remember, beginning with nailing pieces of wood together in my parent's basement and building tree forts.
Most of my high school years were spent in the wood shop and drafting rooms. After high school, I continued working with wood, although as a tree spacer. It was then that I realized that I wanted to work with wood as my career, but in a more creative way.
I completed a pre-apprenticeship at the University College of the Fraser Valley and then began working at an architectural millwork company in between school terms.
I finished a four year apprenticeship in bench work and joinery at the British Columbia Institute of Technology and am still working at the same millwork company I
started with.
Being unable to sit still for long, I am constantly designing and building furniture and custom projects. When I am not woodworking for others, I can be found renovating my own home, skiing or hiking the forests of BC, thinking about what I can design and build next.

I like to design furniture that has clean lines and smooth arcs, often incorporating different types of woods and materials, such as steel, plastic and tile into my woodwork. I prefer to use Canadian woods such as Eastern Maple, Western Birch, Red Alder and Douglas Fir, many of which are grown locally. When I finish a large project, I save all of the scraps and try to design and create smaller projects with them such as wooden rings, candle holders and decorative boxes.

Striving for perfection, ongoing attention to detail and high quality and workmanship are integral components of all of my projects, from large kitchens to smaller accessories.
